250,000 Sats Is Your Fair Share of All Bitcoin

250,000 Sats Is Your Fair Share of All Bitcoin

synopsis

The holiday/birthday episode where Mandana launches the first "Flirting with Bitcoin Holiday Challenge" — asking people to buy $40 of bitcoin for themselves instead of buying gifts, in honor of Ian's 40th birthday. They do a role-play of the pitch conversation, discuss 250,000 satoshis as every person's "fair share" of bitcoin, and advocate for replacing gift-giving culture with bitcoin adoption. Includes callbacks to the "Santa is fiat" episode.

quotes

Mandana: "We are the only love-based Bitcoin podcast in the world." Ian: "It's not true." Mandana: "Who's fact-checking me?" Ian: "I am."
Ian: "If you can get them to buy the $40... the next conversation you have with them is storage."
Mandana: "Instead of me buying something for you, I'm going to buy Bitcoin for myself and I'm going to show you that I bought it for myself and it's going to put a smile on Ian's face."
Ian: "Don't ever buy me a gift card. Buy me Bitcoin. That's what I want."
